It does mouse mat things, and is a very nice VERY COOL quality.

For years, all I knew was a plastic surfaced, comically tiny, circular 'BAZINGA' emblazoned mousepad. This Desk Mat has Awoken me to a world beyond that of Mr Cooper's desktop shenanigans; I now rule over my space with the smooth far reaching poise of a well rested skeletal king.

Finally got this out of the Canada post strike limbo and I could not be happier! I absolutely love it and the quality of material is so nice.
